Come and join us to share stories, be creative, make art and have a great evening.

  • Discover more about the work of Shirley Baker in our curator’s tour starting at 5.45 pm

  • Join in with recent work and activities created by members of the Age Friendly Collective.

  • Bring along your photos and objects that tell a story about inner city Manchester and Salford during the time of Shirley Baker’s photos.

  • Hear poetry performed by the ‘Opening Doors’ creative writing group from Hulme.

  • Enjoy live music and games from Moss Side’s Yellow Bird Age Friendly group.

  • Listen to children from Divine Mercy School, Moss Side in conversation with members of the Age Friendly Collective.

English corner is a free English conversation class for people learning English.  Our English teacher leads activities that will help people to practise their speaking and listening skills, whilst exploring artworks and collections on display.

No need to book, just meet Kate at the Information desk.

English corner takes place three times a month:

First Tuesday of the month from 1-2.30 at Manchester Museum

Second Wednesday of each month from 1-2.30 at Manchester Art Gallery

Fourth Friday of the month from 10.30-12 at the Whitworth
