An evening of medieval and contemporary music, poetry reading, a display of personal artwork, art techniques demonstrations and personal reflections on artworks

Manchester Art Gallery
Thursday 17 November 2016, 6.30pm–9pm

Free

We invited our Friends to come and share their passion and interest with us all and the response has been wonderful. Our Friends Takeover will feature medieval and contemporary music, poetry reading, the display of personal artwork, demonstration of art techniques and personal reflections on work by artists Philip Wilson Steer and Bernard Fleetwood-Walker from two of our Friends and private collectors.

There’ll  also be an informal, revealing, lecture by Art historian Adrian Sumner on Art Deco Painting and the treasures made by Tamara de Lempicka, Jean Dupas, Robert Pougheon, Meredith Frampton, Russell Flint, Frank Brangwyn, Eric Ravilious and many, many more.

And, between 5.30-6.30pm join Louise Thompson, our health and wellbeing Manager, to explore an artwork on display using mindfulness techniques.

If you would like to contribute to the evening, whether it’s to show your own art, demonstrate an artistic technique or any other creative talent, we would love to hear from you so please let us know.

Bring your friends and enjoy an engaging and diverse evening.
