Summary

Resting figure of a horse with legs folded beneath. No plinth. Frink's father was an amateur jockey and skilled horseman and Frink's early exposure to the horse's form was a catalyst for her enduring passion for horses. She was a skilled rider herself. In the early 1970s she moved to the Camargue region of France, well known for its semi-wild horses. She studied the horse she bought for her son which lived in a stable below her studio for a series of works on the theme of the lying down horse, exploring the nuances of the animal's changing poses.
