Summary

Composition consisting, horizontally, of half sky to half earth. There is a table in the foreground at which a young girl sits reading a book; she faces the viewer and is shaded by a red parasol. Beside the girl is a dog with two feeding puppies, and above, therer is a yellow bird in flight carrying a twig in its beak. To the left of the composition stands a multi-coloured potted plant. The painting consists of bright colours and simplified, stylised representations of objects and figures.
