Portrait of the actor, playwright and theatre manager, David Garrick (1717-1779), in the costume of Kitely in Ben Jonson's comedy 'Every Man in his Humour'. Half-length figure with head turned to his right, his left hand visible at waist height. . He is dressed in 'fancy' (Van Dyck))17th century costume.A cloak covers his richly decorated jacket with slashes to the upper arm and broad lace collar.
