George Colman

Summary
Goerge Colman was born in Florence in 1732, and educated at Westminster and Oxford. He was called to the bar but gave up this profession for literary pursuits. He was the author of the 'Jealous Wife', 'Clandestine Marriage' and other plays as well as some translations from the classics. He was also manager of the Haymarket Theatre. He died in 1794.
