Scarborough from the Sea No.1
Summary
A coastal scene with a pier and harbour in the middle ground. A steep hill or cliff can be seen in the left background, which has an old city wall along the top. At the base of this hill is a village, and several of the houses have smoke coming out of their chimneys. Just to the left of the centre middle ground is a white lighthouse on the harbour wall. A sailed and masted boat is right of centre foreground whilst a rowing boat with two figures floats on the water to the left foreground.
