Summary

In the forefround of the print are three women who seem to be talking to one another whilst they are looking after children. All of the women are wearing similar clothes with white aprons and different coloured hats suggesting a uniform. The woman to the left is wearing a checked lilac dress with a matching hat, the woman in the centre is wearing a blue and red checked dress with white apron and hat, whilst the woman on the right is wearing a plain peach dress and hat but her white apron has more intricate lace detailing. The woman in the lilac dress is holding a small child in a peach dress with dark hair, the woman in the centre is loosely holding the handle of a pram, and the woman to the right has a blonde haired baby bundled in her arms. There is also another, slightly older, child to the right of the women who is seen from behind wearing a yellow dress and playing with a dog. To the right in the midground are two men in military uniform walking away from the women. The background of the scene suggests a busy town setting, as there are a series of archways with the impression of a walkway behind them.
