Summary

Lane to the right leading up a hill. The path rises over a bridge between two buildings in the foreground with chimneys; smoke trails out of the chimney of the house on the left. Figure on horse holding a wicker basket in the foreground to the right and figure walking beside with walking stick. Livestock and a figure in foreground to the left who is holding a bale of straw. A large pile of straw lies to the far left. All figures wear hats. Figure walking along path in the distance. Field and trees in middle ground to left. Two telegraph poles beside path, right of centre. Claughton Pellew was a member of The Society of Artist Print-Makers established to encourage the production of original prints in any medium.
