Hatherton House, NE
Summary
A view of a modest manor house made up of three joined parts. The buildings have black timber supports, white walls, and a thatched roof. The style is simple, with basic use of perspective employed to depict the architecture, and the male figure and his two greyhounds in the foreground appear naive and doll-like. The printed text beneath the image indicates that the engraving was done by a member of the Twemlow family, who lived in Hatherton House, and that this is therefore a record of a place and its owner, rather than a display of artistic talent.
