Summary

A harbour scene with a boat with a smoke stake to the lower left and an industrial town beyond. This boat is seen from the front and is next toa small getty on the left edge of the composition, On top of the smoke stack is a fish shaped weather vane. On the right of the composition two small sailing boats are beached on the sand at the side of the stretch of water. In the background on both the left and right edges of the composition are white cliffs. Smoking factory chimneys can be seen in the background and a series of cranes are fixed to the dockside at the right. In the far distance are grassy hills, and a sailing ship is out in open water in the upper middle background.
