Dancing
Summary
In the centre of the composition, brightly lit against the surrounding darkness, is a dancing female figure. She is nude from the waist upwards as she only wears a cloth tied around her waist, her loose, curly hair falls down her back and she has both arms raised holding a cloth in the air. Although she faces the viewer she is looking at the woman to her left who is dancing with her but in contrast to her is fully robed, with her hair tied up, and her back to the viewer. The two women are looking at one another, dancing in a circle together, performing for the figures seen in the shadows on the right, sat watching intently.
