Work My 30-1970 No.225
Summary
A colour woodblock and silkscreen print. Two lines made up of different colours run parallel with one another. The right line then angles to the right. Twelve small circles have been cut out of the paper. These holes and vertical marks are signature motifs of Funasaka's prints. The print's title is intended to dissuade the viewer from looking for explicit meaning and to encourage contemplation of its formal purity instead. Funasaka's serene yet vibrant print is crafted to provide refuge for the viewer from the confusions and complications of everyday life.
