Summary
This is a war scene with two soldiers on the left of the centre, on horseback side-by-side and stationary. The soldiers’ heads are turned to face each other. The background behind the two horsemen is dark while the background on the right is not. A soldier in the foreground holds his sword out with his right hand towards the fighting occurring in the distant right. Figures lie lifeless on the ground to the right.
