Frontispiece: 'Diverse Maniere D'Adornare I Cammini'
Summary
Neoclassical frontispiece (an illustration facing the title of a book) decorated with three caryatids at either side, inscription in the centre; a relief of a female bust flanked by angels can also be seen on the top to left and right. The title translates as'Various Methods for Ornamenting Chimneypieces...and all other parts of buildings taken from Egyptian, Etruscan and Grecian Architecture, with dedication to Pope Clemente XIII'. From the Firmin Didot edition of 1836.
