Dryade A
Summary
An abstract composition in earthy colours. A centre area is filled with green shapes which in turn contain other shapes. This area is interrupted by rounded forms coming from the lower, upper-right and upper-left edges of the composition. The background pattern is in a dark brown. Masao Yoshida worked in Paris at S W Hayter's Atelier 17 studio and studied intaglio printing from 1961 to 1963. This is a colour viscosity etching and aquatint. The French title translates as Dryad, a tree nymph in Greek mythology.
