Summary

An interior with figures surrounding the room. A fire burns in a hearth to the left, beside which sit two elderley figures; the male sits nearest to the fire. Other figures stand around the room, two sit on the floor in the foreground centre and three figures sit at a table to the right of the foreground. The figures are mostly facing towards the back of the room on the right where a mock stage has been set up and two figures stand in costumes. There are several more figures standing on either side of the hearth. The main source of light comes from a lamp at the feet of the people in costume so the scene is quite dim.
