Summary

The black ovals and circles that are distributed in an apparently random pattern across the print overshadow the faint grey line work that they overlay. The line work, which is very fine and precise, seems to divide the print into equal geometric sections that are either triangular or square. It is only at certain points where there are fewer black circles or ovals that this line work varies and leaves large gaps in the overall pattern. The black circles and ovals correspond to the framework created by the geometric lines indicating that the pattern is not random. The way the circles or ovals are plotted against the line work is reminiscent of mathematical charts or graphs, or of music.
