A reproduction produced by the Vasari Society of a drawing by Cornelis Saftleven. The drawing shows a peasant man standing, looking at the viewer with a slight smile. He is wearing a tall cloth hat, a long plain overall and boots. The drawing is initialled and dated in the bottom right hand corner. Text from the accompanying booklet produced by the Vasari Society: "No. 18 CORNELIS SAFTLEVEN (b. about 1608; d. 1681) STUDY OF A PEASANT, STANDING Collection of Captain E. G. Spencer Churchill, Northwick Park. Black chalk. 29 x 18.1 cm. (11 3/8 x 7 1/8 in.). A characteristic example, signed with the artist's monogram and dated 1661."
