Summary
"Delivering the Goods" - a drawing of a workshop of the Renold and Coventry Chain Company, a Manchester industrial chain manufacturer, during the war effort. Hans Renold was a Swiss immigrant who came to Manchester in 1873 to work for a machinery exporters firm. In 1879 he purchased a small chain making factory in Salford and established the Hans Renold Company. His son, Sir Charles Garonne Renold (1883-1967) was a British engineer and MD and Chairman of the Renold and Coventry Chain Company 1930-1967. The Renold Building, part of the University of Manchester, is named after him.
