Summary
The scene is set against a dramatic, snow-covered, mountain range, which sweeps down into a lake at the right; built on the near shores of the lake is a town. In the foreground is a road that curves to the left around a grassy mound, which is enclosed within a white wall; in the road, next to an entranceway through the wall, are two male figures stood either side of a laden ox; a second pair of male figures approach the bend in the road.
