A child stands to the right, with left arm held across the woman's stomach and right arm around the back of her shoulders. verso: Drapery study of woman's clothing from the waist down, with a head in profile to the bottom right. Inscription reads - J.M.Strudwick / Study for drapery of figures in / "The Ten Virgins" (1884)
