Summary

A design for an elaborately decorated fountain; winged cherubs sit on an ionic plinth supporting a fluted two handled goblet festooned with laurels and ornamented with a mask of medusa in bas-relief. The neck of the vase is filled with fruit and foliage out of which jets of water spring. Probably intended for the gardens of Marly or Versailles.
