Church Near Blackheath

Elwin Hawthorne 1905 - 1954

Summary

Street scene in Blackheath, London in the 1920s. Three figures can be seen walking along the pavement and a period car travels down the road. A large sandstone coloured spire emerges to the right of the picture, with the rest of the church partly visible. Terrace houses in brown can be seen along the right-hand side of the road. Bare trees and some evergreens line the sides of the road. The sky is a neutral grey colour.
