Summary

Black plush and navy velvet hat, lined black plain weave silk. Cylindrical crown with indented sides, built onto wire framework; circular top section in plush, sides and outer edge of gathered velvet; flat brim of wool, wired and bound with navy ruched velvet, 10cm wide at front, 7 cm wide at back; small navy velvet ribbon bow at centre back, large bow at front trimmed with tuft of black feathers, black ostritch feather curving round each side, pin with faceted clear glass head at left side, flat black button on right side.
