Summary

A black woodcut print showing the inside of a victorian shopping arcade, with large metal beams supporting the roof. Lancaster Avenue Arcade, also known as Cheese Alley, was a glass-roofed passageway built in the Victorian period. It contained small shops in tiers with balconies. It was located close to Victoria Railway Station, between Fennel Street and Todd Street. It was demolished in the mid-70s and is now the site of Urbis/the National Football Museum.
