Cocktail dress in pale yellow wild silk, entirely decorated with parallel knife-pleats over the bodice, skirt and bertha collar (double pleats on the skirt); sleeveless; attached made-up bow at neck; cb opening and zip; band at waist; bodice lined matching lightweight silk; attached white organdie petticoat; woven labels ; 'Christian Dior - London, modele original, made in England, 19399' and 'Samuels, Manchester' This is the London version of the model dress from Dior's Printemps 1959 collection; see French Vogue, March 1959 p.104, which is in sky blue, not lemon yellow. The model was Petsy Pcikering. Designed by Yves St Laurent.
