Summary

Deep circular slop bowl on tall footring. Sides decorated in pink 'peach bloom' ground, white border beneath rim decorated with simple gilt flowers, stars and dots. Second plain white border with gilt edges round white footring. Large rectangular panel on one side of bowl painted with seascape depicting battle between three men-o-war. Three ships sit side by side, Union Jack flying in the centre, flanked by white flags with gold fleurs-de-lys. Small rowing boat with men in red and blue in the water before central ship, more ships in the distance to left. Bute shaped tea cup with plain loop handle, and deep welled saucer. Cup decorated with pink ground, white and gilt border and reserved square panel painted with two ships in full sail, both with plain red flags. White handle picked out in gilt, gilt edged rim, plain white interior. Saucer painted with same pink ground and white and gilt border, central squared panel painted with two fighting ships side by side, one flying the Union Jack.Deep sugar bowl on straight footring, shallow domed cover with gilt ring finial. Pink ground with white and gilt border, repeated on cover, rectangular panel painted with battle scene of two ships, partially obscured by cannon smoke. Nearmost ship flies the Union Jack, furthermost ship a white flag with gold fleurs-de-lys.
