Summary

Cream silk satin lined with silk. Low round neck, shaped to slight V at centre, fastening with braid tie at back and with hooks and eyes, alternating each side. V-shape at waist. Boned at back. Front fastening lightly boned. Short full sleeves to elbow ending in frill. Neck trimmed with frill of deep cream lace, second lace trimming from back of sleeves to centre waist. Made-up bow of figured silk and silver thread at neck, two matching bands at waist, with loose ends to fasten with hooks and eyes. Pads of silk-covered cotton wool at bust. Dress preservers. Inner waistband with two hooks for skirt at CB and loop. Skirt has silk lining extedning beyond to fasten at CB beneath separate CB panel of figured silk and silver thread. Panel lined with silk. Three insertions of lace applied to front and sides. Frill at deep hem. Lining separate except at waist. Photograph shows alterations made for later evening wear.
