Summary

Public: An oblong box with concave sides, patterned mount and hinged lid. Enamel on metal with the lid painted with a panel of a quayside scene, the sides and bottom are painted with five panels of flowers all within gilt scroll borders on a blue ground decorated with floral sprays and scrolls. Private: An oblong box with concave sides and rounded bottom with a patterned mount and hinged lid. Enamal on metal with the lid painted in colours with a panel of colonnaded ruins on a quayside with men embarking from a large ship in a small boat, in the distance is a castle on a cliff. The sides and bottom are painted with five panels of floral sprays. All panels are bordered in gilt scrolls on a blue ground decorated with floral sprays and scrolls in raised gold. Inside the lid are painted two small bouquets of flowers.
