Summary

An oblong box with concave sides, rounded base, plain mount and a hinged lid. Enamelled on metal and painted on the lid with a fashionably dressed gentleman offering a rose to a seated lady in a park-like setting (both in costume of c 1750) within a border of raised white enamel scrolls. The sides and bottom feature five panels painted with bouquets of flowers within similar borders, all on a blue ground with trellis and dot decoration.
