Summary

An oval box with fluted sides, a plain mount and a hinged lid. Enamel on metal and painted on the lid with a coastal scene of a man seated on a rock by the sea, on which is a boat with a man standing near holding a fishing net, within gilt scroll borders on a pale blue ground. The sides are decorated with vertical bands of blue scrolls between which are red rosettes with the top edge bordered by a wavy red line on a white ground.
