Summary

An oval box with straight sides and a plain mount with a hinged lid. Enamel on metal and painted on the lid with a lady and gentleman, dressed in early nineteenth century costume, walking together along a river bank, on a white ground with the inscription above and below 'Join'd by Friendship Crown'd by Love' surrounded by a fine gold border on a dark blue ground with a border of raised white enamel dots. The body of the box is dark blue.
