Private: A drum shaped box containing the tape measure with a crank handle for winding the tape on one end and the other mounted with a glass seal against a background of red. The body is enamelled on metal and decorated around the side with the inscription 'A Pledge of Love' with a very slight border of green leaves above and below and horizontal blue borders to each end, on a white ground. The seal is decorated with a figure in intaglio holding a trumpet. The end of the tape measure is fitted with a bone ring handle.
