Summary

Public: A rectangular box with double canted fluted corners, a plain brass mount with a plain handle and a hinged lid. Enamel on metal and painted in colours on the lid with an extensive landscape panel, there are four further landscape panels around the sides and all are within raised gilt scroll borders on a pink ground decorated with gilt and white scrolls and dots. Private: A rectangular box with double canted fluted corners, a plain brass mount with a plain handle and a hinged lid. Enamel on metal and painted in colours on the lid with an extensive landscape panel showing a lady and gentleman sitting conversing beside a river along with a dog, behind them is a tree around which a shepherd looks for his sheep who are hiding in the roots, more sheep and cattle graze nearby and in the background are a ruined castle and mountains, surrounded by a raised gilt scroll border on a pink ground decorated with scrolls in gilt and white. Around the sides are four landscape panels all within raised gilt scroll borders on a pink ground decorated with gilt and white dots. The fluted corners are highlighted by horizontal gilt beading between which are white trellis patterns with gilt dots.
