Summary

Public: Model of a longcase clock, white earthenware, decorated underglaze in yellow ochre, yellow, brown and cobalt blue, with a pearlware glaze. Private: Two-part moulded longcase clock with large rounded head and wide foot, sides painted underglaze in pale brown with broad visible brushstrokes, back panel left white. Swollen circular clock face and surround in white, with beaded brown edge and leafy brown and blue border. Incised roman numerals picked out in blue, relief hands in brown, reading half past eight. Tiny second clock face above main clock hands, picked out in brown. Above face, body tapers to shallow ridge surmounted by rounded knop in the form of a yellow flowering bud. Ochre door panel against dark blue ground, pale brown foot panel set into dark blue ground. Pearlware blue glaze.
