Summary

An oval box with straight sides, a chased metal mount and a hinged hollow-shouldered lid fitted with an engraved metal swing handle and metal lock to the base. Inside is an oval plaque with a knob to act as presser for the tea. Enamel on metal and painted all over evenly with small stars coloured pink, red and yellow, separated by gilt devices on a blue ground. The presser inside is decorated similarly.
