needlecase & scent case & thimble

Summary

A cylindrical case with a long cap with a metal rim sliding on an inner metal sleeve forming the scent case which in turn has a screw cap furnished as a thimble with a metal rim and top. Enamel on metal and painted in colours with three landscape panels - one on the thimble of a classical monument and the two on the body containing female figures one leaning against a wall and the other playing a guitar - and a further panel containing the inscription 'Secret en armour' in black. All panels are within gilt scroll borders on a pink ground decorated with groups of dots in raised white enamel.
