Summary

Public: Etui of flattened oval section tapering towards the bottom with a deep hinged lid within a tooled, scalloped edged metal mount with chased metal mounts to the top and bottom; fitted inside with five implements. Enamel on metal and painted in colours with five classical landscapes within gilt scroll borders on a white ground decorated with blue dots within a trellis pattern in white. Private: Etui of flattened oval section tapering towards the bottom with a deep hinged lid within a tooled, scalloped edged metal mount with chased metal mounts to the top and bottom; fitted inside with scissors, ivory memorandum tablet, knife with an ivory handle, stilletto and pencil holder. Enamel on metal and painted in colours with five panels of classical pastoral landscapes; two on the body of a woman seated on classical ruins surrounded by sheep and on the other side of a shepherd with a crook surrounded by sheep with a pediment and urn and pyramidal monument in the background. Three smaller panels on the lid depict sheep with classical ruins in the background. All panels are within gilt scroll borders on a white ground decorated with blue dots within a trellis pattern in white.
