Summary
Public: An oblong case with a domed, deep hinged lid within a slightly chased metal mount and hinging on the narrow end. Enamel on metal and painted in colours on the body with two circular panels containing inscriptions and two on the lid containing stars, the narrow sides are decorated with wavy blue lines all on a pink ground. Inside is fitted with a glass bottle. Private: An oblong case with a domed, deep hinged lid within a slightly chased metal mount and hinging on the narrow end. Enamel on metal and painted in colours on the body with two circular panels containing the inscription 'Long may you live & be Happy' on one side and 'Sweets for the Sweet' on the reverse in black; two panels on the lid contain stars in blue and yellow, all on white backgrounds with borders of continuous blue dots. All on a pink ground decorated with four stars in blue and yellow to each corner on the body on the broad sides and two stars and two circles with dots in the centres to the lid. The narrow sides are decorated with a two converging continuous wavy lines in blue. Inside is fitted with a glass bottle.
