Summary

Public: A rectangular case with a very deep hinged lid within a plain metal mount. Enamel on metal and painted in colours on the lower half with two panels showing busts of ladies and two panels of flowers; the upper half is decorated with circles and stars in black on a yellow ground. Private: A rectangular case with a very deep hinged lid within a plain metal mount. Enamel on metal and painted in colours on the lower half with two panels of busts of ladies in low-cut frocks, one has her head covered with a purple mantilla and the other wears a cap covered with flowers both on a pale lemon background bordered by gold within an oblong white panel to each corner of which is a rosette in red. The narrow sides are painted with sprays of flowers on a white background within an oblong panel on a pink ground. The upper half is decorated with circles and stars in black, white and gold with a running floral design down the sides, all on a yellow ground.
