Summary

Public: An oval box with tall tapering sides fluted near the base with a hinged lid within a deep plain mount. Enamel on metal and painted in colours in raised enamel on the lid with a spray of flowers around which is a scroll border; the sides are painted with flowers, leaves and scrolls all direct on a powder blue ground. Private: An oval box with tall tapering sides fluted near the base with a hinged lid within a deep plain mount. Enamel on metal and painted in raised enamel colours direct on a powder blue ground on the lid in the centre with a spray of flowers and around the edge with a yellow and red scroll border; the top of the sides are painted with two sprays of flowers and two sprigs and at the top of the fluting with a line of scrolls and on the fluting with four detached flowers and four leaves. The bottom is painted with a detached flower on a white ground.
