Summary

Public: An oval box with straight sides and a hinged lid within a plain metal mount. Enamel on metal and painted in colours on the lid with a medallion containing an urn with flowers to either side and a wide lilac border; the sides are painted with two panels of flowers and two sprays of flowers direct on a lilac ground. Private: An oval box with straight sides and a domed, hinged lid within a plain metal mount. Enamel on metal and painted in colours on the lid in the centre with an oval medallion containing an urn on a reddish-brown background surrounded by a rope effect border on a white ground with a flower to either side and surrounded by a wide border of lilac outlined with a running pattern of fine leaves in red. The sides are painted with two panels of sprays of flowers outlined with a running pattern of fine leaves in red on a lilac ground and two sprays of flowers direct on the ground.
