dress
Summary
Bottle green silk satin under black net, heavily embroidered with gold thread and black beads. This costume is typical of late Edwardian evening fashion with short sleeves and elaborate decoration. Perhaps intended for an older woman, the usual bare neckline is covered by a white lace infill. The embroidery down the front is characteristically art Nouveau in inspiration with a linear design running from the waist to near the hem. Unlabelled but the product of a high end dressmaker.
