Summary

Copper and black figured corded silk with black rose bud pattern, trimmed with cream lace. Bodice forms princess line train and has a stand-up collar with a lace jabot. Fitted bodice; Fronts in 1 section with 2 long boned darts each side. Fastening centre front with multiple covered buttons and buttonholes. Front panels extend to a deep weighted point at centre front. Bodice back; Each side in 3 sections. Central sections extend to princess line and into a train lined in black alpaca. Extra panel pleated in below waist. All bodice seams boned. Sleeves; Fitted in 2 sections with twist of velvet forming epilette around shoulder seam. Lower edge, front edge and sleeves all trimmed with cream machine lace. Dress band at waist. Bodice lined with black satin. Skirt; 3 panels of bronze velvet, fitted to waist forming centre front and sides. 2 panels of black alpaca forming skirt back, gathered tightly into waist. Waistband fastens with 2 hooks and eyes. Velvet cut into tabs at hem, edges trimmed with pleated lace matching bodice lace. Pleated copper frill beneath tabs at hem. Skirt front hem lined with muslin frill.
