Summary

Public: Hexagonal globular teapot, white salt-glazed stoneware, with slip-cast relief panels of animals and Chinoiserie landscapes. Private: Globular teapot of hexagonal section, with hexagonal spreading footring and short straight hexagonal neck. Tapering plain octagonal spout, plain handle with two broad notches cut in thumb rest, and outward spur at lower terminal. Body slip-cast with six vertical arched panels of different animals and landscapes, comprising from right of handle; leopard on hillside with two birds overhead; leopard beneath a tree; monkey beneath a tree facing toucan perched on a branch to right; figure carrying long staff, beneath canopy of building complex; fenced garden with domed tower topped by steeple, bird flying overhead; fenced building complex. Domed hexagonal cover with flattened rim, central finial in the form of crouching rabbit, small pierced hole behind. Creamy white body with several burst air bubbles on surface.
