Summary

Public: Pear-shaped milk jug with three paw feet, a strap loop handle and a circular cover with a kylin finial attached by a metal chain. Finely marbled blue, white, dark and light brown earthenware body. Private: Pear-shaped milk jug tapering to tall cylindrical neck with sparrow beak lip. Three applied feet in the form of a paw surmounted by a lion's mask, applied strap loop handle with flattened splayed lower terminal. Flattened circular cover with Chinese kylin finial, attached to handle by metal chain. Finely marbled blue, dark brown, light brown and white earthenware body, marbled clays laid in short strips giving random pattern of predominantly blue streaks, blue and brown bleeding into lead glaze.
