Summary

Silk leaf painted centre front with garden scene with man playing flute and 2 women, showing contemporary costume and headdresses, in irregular shape outlined in spangles. Painted sprays over rest of front, with some spangle embroidery, with meandering lines embroidered in spangles. Border of scrolls and flowers, mainly in gold paint, at top and sides. Back plain except for red lines corresponding with spangle embroidery and scroll borders of front. Ivory sticks and guards engraved with floral design filled in with silver leaf and spangles. Chased metal handle.
