Summary

paper leaf painted with central scene of 3 children with skittles, slate and ball, in front of church. Group to left of sheaf of corn, pitcher and hat in landscape. Landscape with ruin to right. All 3 scenes surrounded by scrollwork with flowers between, and border of leaves and berries, painted in red, purple and gilt on green ground. Back painted with boy fishing in landscape. Pierced ivory sticks with flowers and scrolls, and central scene of woman and naked boy with fruit. Pierced ivory guards, each with man at top and fruit and bird below, with coloured foil showing through upper half of guard. Small mother of pearl disc each end of pin. Said to have belonged to Lady Anne Pennefeather, a Bath beauty, d.1745.
