Summary

Public: Flattened globular teapot with a short ribbed spout and loop handle with a domed cover with turned baluster finial. Marbled white and brown earthenware body. Private: Flattened globular teapot on circular footring, with short ribbed spout and loop handle with spur at lower terminal. Shallow domed circular cover with turned baluster finial, hole pierced to one side. Marbled white and brown earthenware body, with irregular brown patches and streaks following throwing lines particularly around shoulder and neck, brown bleeding into the glaze. Painted underglaze decoration of blurred cobalt blue streaks following brown agate veins around body, and floral spray on lower body to right of handle. Handle and spout picked out with cobalt blue spots. Interior and underside of cover also trailed with random lines of cobalt blue.
